Three systems. Three different paths.

Recording and transcription are shared. Permissions, packaging, and text insertion differ by operating system.

Install on Mac

  1. Download the signed DMG.
  2. Drag Daber to Applications.
  3. Grant Microphone and Accessibility.
  4. Download the local model once.

Install on Windows

  1. Download the EXE only from the official Daber page.
  2. Verify its SHA-256 using the instructions beside the download.
  3. At SmartScreen, choose “More info” and then “Run anyway.”
  4. Grant Microphone access, use Ctrl+Shift+Space, and download the local model once.
  5. If WebView2 is missing, keep an internet connection available while the installer downloads it.

Install on Linux

  1. Download AppImage or DEB for your distribution.
  2. Verify the checksum and signature.
  3. For AppImage, run chmod +x on the file before opening it.
  4. Grant Microphone and Secret Service access.

An alpha should tell you exactly what you are downloading.

Every file shows its source, version, checksum, and real signing status. Compatibility testing continues with the community, and reported problems go back into the open project.
